Possible CFL... AND Yogic Flying League?!
Moncton's going gangbusters now. Prime Minister Stephen Harper stopped by the city this week, on his way through New Brunswick, to announce funding for a 10,000-seat stadium. The stadium is earmarked to go together with a Monctonian bid for the 2008 World Junior Track and Field Games, but everyone knows the real outcome for such a facility would be as the cornerstone to acquiring a C.F.L. expansion franchise. Labels: Moncton, New Brunswick, politicians, religion, sports
But, not only are they seemingly beating Halifax to the endzone for Atlantic Canada's first C.F.L. team, but they're getting Yogic Flyers too!
The same folks who took over George's and Piscataqui Islands off of Canso, N.S. in October (see blog), the Global Country of World Peace, led by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, are looking at setting up shop in Moncton. The proposed McLaughlin Road Peace Palace would host a spa, meditation facilities and a yogic flying aerodrome-- like the one suggested for Canso.
A couple more of these places and you could set up a pretty cool Atlantic Canadian Yogic Flying League that would beat the pants off Quidditch, not to mention flying circles around the C.F.L.
